Pensacola State College’s TRIO programs staff celebrated National TRIO Day by “sharing the love” with students on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.
“We wanted to ‘Share the Love’ in order to raise awareness of our TRIO programs here at Pensacola State College,” Student Support Services Director Rachelle Burns said. “National TRIO Day is a great opportunity to do that because it’s a day set aside by Congress to recognize who TRIO is and what we do.”
Students enjoyed free lunch, music and dancing, fellowship, and games of corn hole bean bag toss. Exhibition tables offered information about each of the college’s TRIO programs, and Student Support Services Club members were on hand to speak about the organization and its community service efforts and how to join.
As part of the TRIO service project, donations were collected for the PSC Student Food Pantry.
