If you are a child or a spouse of a deceased or disabled veteran, you can have tuition covered by the Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans (CSDDV) Scholarship. Scholarships are available to support children and spouses of veterans, just as those brave men and women supported others through their service to our country.
The application must be completed error-free by April 1, 2025, for priority consideration for the 2025-26 academic year. Applications received after that date will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis if funding is still available. It is important to get your application in as soon as possible, before that date, to allow for potential follow-up communication from the State to ensure payment.
Please carefully follow the steps below to apply for the CSDDV Scholarship:
Step 1: Go to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) home page online at www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org to fill out the Florida financial aid application. Be sure to proofread several times before submitting to catch missing information or errors. Applications must be complete and error-free to be accepted.
Step 2: Enter the qualifying veteran’s information. Again, be sure to proofread several times before submitting to catch missing information or errors.
Step 3: Check e-mails and monitor your OSFA student account frequently for follow-up information sent. This is vital, as the State may catch missing information or errors and contact you to make corrections before April 1.
Florida’s OSFA will notify students of their determined eligibility status via their OSFA Student Account. In the past, eligibility is determined, and students are notified, during the last week of August. OSFA will also notify Pensacola State College of which of its students are eligible for this scholarship so we can add the award to our students’ accounts.
