Sophomore women’s basketball guard Katiya Casey (#3) may be a familiar face to sports fans, but there is more to this dynamic young lady than knowing how to lead a team on the court. A Crestview native, Katiya wanted to play basketball for PSC so her family could travel easily to watch her play. She admires her mom and sister, independent and successful women who push through hardships to achieve what they want while supporting Katiya as she achieves her goals and dreams, like making the Panhandle Conference First Team. You might find this pharmacy student taking an interest in the criminal justice system, watching YouTube gamers, anime, or movies when she’s not on the court. “I am a movie fanatic – I’ve seen so many I’ve lost count!” If her sister came to town from Missouri, Katiya would probably take her to a movie after hitting up Petland and the mall, maybe go bowling and then head to the beach. “Even though it may seem I am bubbly and have a lot of energy, I am pretty chill.”
