Heavy rain flooded the streets of Pensacola with about six inches of rainfall on Sunday, March 30. PSC Associate Vice President Michael Johnston worked in his office when the rain began. “First, it started as heavy rain, and then it turned into a virtual monsoon,” Johnston said. “Because I drive a pickup truck, I drove nearby to see how high the water was getting around the campus.” The flooding stalled drivers at the corner of 9th Avenue and Airport Blvd., Pensacola International Airport canceled all flights, and Dillard’s department store at Cordova Mall was flooded.
