Fifteen Pensacola State College student-athletes struck some major deals on Wednesday, April 24, when they committed to Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA colleges and universities.
The athletes include:
Baseball players: Fausto Lopez, Luke Coker, Tyson Ellis, Ryan Brewer, Chad Bryant, Josh Rulli, D.J. Wilkinson and Bryan Eusebio – who signed with Middle Tennessee State University, Elon University, Troy University, the University of West Florida, the University of Alabama, the University of Tampa, Troy University and Webber International University, respectively.
An infielder, Lopez is from Orlando and a graduate of Kissimmee High School. In 2018, he was selected an FCSAA Academic All-State honoree, and named to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference Second Team.
Coker, an infielder, is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and a graduate of Northridge High School.
Brewer, an infielder and pitcher, is from Ocoee and a graduate of Ocoee High School. In 2018, he also was selected an FCSAA Academic All-State honoree.
Bryant, a right-handed pitcher, is from Thomasville, Alabama, and graduate of Thomasville High School.
A right-handed pitcher, Ellis is from Lake City and a graduate of Columbia High School.
Rulli, a catcher, is from Riverview and a Riverview High graduate. In 2018, he was named to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference Second Team.
Wilkinson, a right-handed pitcher, is from Monticello and a graduate of Aucilla Christian High School. In 2018, he was named to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference Second Team.
An outfielder, Eusebio is from Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, and a graduate of the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and High School.
Women’s basketball players: Brandi Washington and Savannah Walker-Lafler have signed with Grambling State University and Martin Methodist College, respectively.
Washington, a guard, averaged 17 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. The sophomore is from Monroe, Louisiana, and a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School.
Washington was selected to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.80 to 3.99 grade point average. She also was named a 2018 FCSAA Academic All-State honoree, and to the 2019 All-Panhandle Conference First Team.
Walker-Lafler, a center, averaged 4 points per game and 3.7 rebounds. She is from Largo, Florida, and a graduate of Seminole High School.
Men’s basketball players: Yeikson Montero who a signed letter of intent to Eastern Michigan University.
A guard for the Pirates, Montero averaged 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game during the 2018-19 season.
He is from the Dominican Republic, and a graduate of Redemption Christian Academy. In 2018, he was named to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference Second Team. In 2019, Montero was selected to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference First Team.
Volleyball player: Robyn Krause, Kennedy Raffle, Katarina Nikolic and Baylee Young who signed with Wofford College, Auburn University Montgomery, Olivet Nazarene University and the University of North Alabama (beach volleyball team), respectively.
Krause, a setter, is from Dayton, Ohio, and a Centerville High School graduate. She also was selected to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.60 to 3.70 GPA.
In 2018, she also was named an FCSAA All-Academic All-State honoree and selected to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference First Team.
A libero and defensive specialist, Raffle is from Dothan, Alabama, and a Providence Christian School graduate.
Nikolic, an outside hitter, is from Begrade, Serbia, and a graduate of Sixth Begrade Grammar School.
Young, a libero, is from Jensen Beach, and a James Madison High graduate. In 2018, she also was selected to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference First Team.
