Pensacola State College will be named as a Top Yellow Ribbon School in the September 2026 issue of U.S. Veterans Magazine, recognizing the college’s continued dedication and commitment to supporting veterans, military-connected students and their educational success. U.S. Veterans Magazine presents the Top Yellow Ribbon Schools list as a trusted guide for veterans, transitioning service members and military families seeking their next mission in the workforce or classroom.
The Top Yellow Ribbon School designation is one of three Best of the Best recognitions by the publication, along with Top Veteran Schools and Top Milspouse Schools. These annual lists highlight institutions setting the standard in veteran and family support, helping veterans and military families make informed decisions and save time researching schools that truly support their unique needs and goals.
Honorees are selected through a national evaluation process that includes both self-reported surveys and independent research conducted by U.S. Veterans Magazine. Organizations are assessed on key criteria such as military benefits, career transition initiatives and educational services tailored specifically for veterans. For schools, recognition is awarded to those offering critical support elements such as veteran resource centers, VA certifying officials on staff, and academic credit for military training. Evaluations are conducted independently and are not influenced by paid participation.
PSC offers dedicated support services on all campuses. The Veteran and Military Family Service Center provides VA-informed academic advising, a family-friendly waiting area and a computer lab with access to printing. The TRiO Veterans Upward Bound program helps prepare eligible veterans to enter and complete college, offering academic advising, tutoring career exploration and assistance with applying for financial aid.
Additionally, the Milton campus is home to the VetCV Mission Next Military Veterans and Family Resource Center, a VetCV Foundation initiative, which serves as a one-stop shop for veterans, providing support with housing, career development and other support services through collaborative partnerships and a deep understanding of the unique needs of service members, veterans and their families.
The college serves about 1,700 military-connected students with student services and campus resources especially designed to support active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Roughly 12% of PSC students are military-affiliated, reflecting the high number of students using VA education benefits in recent years.
