Pensacola State College announced proposed lab fee changes for several courses for students enrolled in the programs.
The College’s District Board of Trustees will vote on the fee changes at the Tuesday, June 18, meeting set for 5:30 p.m. on the Pensacola campus. If approved by the Board of Trustees, the new fees will take effect for the Fall 2024 Semester.
The courses and proposed changes include the following:
Health Sciences Department
- DEH 1002L – Dental Hygiene Pre-Clinic lab fee increases to $153 from $125.
Reason: Some materials that are currently required for students to buy externally are being incorporated into the lab fee. The College can buy the items in quantity cheaper and without sales tax lowering the total cost to the student.
- DEH 2804L – Dental Hygiene Clinic III lab fee increases to $265 from $200.
Reason: Some materials that are currently required for students to buy externally are being incorporated into the lab fee. The College can buy the items in quantity cheaper and without sales tax lowering the total cost to the student.
Natural Sciences Department
- CHM 1045 – General Chemistry I (Multiple Programs) lab fee increases to $35 from $25.
Reason: Changes in labs, lab supplies and increased supplier costs.
- CHM 1046 – General Chemistry II (Multiple Programs)lab fee increases to $65 from $25.
Reason: Changes in labs, lab supplies and increased supplier costs.
- CHM 2210 – Organic Chemistry II (Multiple Programs) lab fee increases to $70 from $25.
Reason: Changes in labs, lab supplies and increased supplier costs.
- CHM 2211 – Organic Chemistry II (Multiple Programs) lab fee increases to $65 from $25.
Reason: Changes in labs, lab supplies and increased supplier costs.
Mathematics and Computer Science Department
- CET 1588 Network+ (Multiple Programs) lab fee increases to $178 from $173.
Reason: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers provided to students. CompTIA Network+ (N10-008).
- Cybersecurity Analyst (Bachelor of Applied Science) CIS 3122C lab fee increases to $262 from $254.
Reason: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certifications vouchers provided to students. CompTIA (CS1-002 CSY A+ Exam Code CSO-002 and CSO-003).
- Cybersecurity (Associate in Science) CTS 2106C Linux + lab fee increases to $178 from $173.
Reasons: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers provided to students. CompTIA Linux+.
- Cybersecurity (Associate in Science) CTS 2120C Security + lab fee increases to $262 from $254.
Reasons: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers provided to students. CompTIA Security+
- Cybersecurity (Associate in Science) CTS 2145C Cloud Essentials lab fee increases to $84 from $82.
Reasons: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers provided to students. CompTIA Cloud Essentials+ Exam Code CLO-002.
- Cybersecurity (Associate in Science) CTS 2149 Fundamentals of Project Management lab fee increases to $178 from $173.
Reasons: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers provided to students. CompTIA Project+.
