The Pensacola State College eSports Team is looking for gamers who have the forte for Fortnite, a calling for Call of Duty, or the athletic prowess for Madden NFL 22.

“We are looking for more players to round out the 2023-2024 roster and are now accepting applications,” said Jeremy Sommers, the College’s eSports head coach.

“We now have the eSports Gaming Dome complete with 12 updated gaming computers with individual internet sources, ergonomic gaming chairs, and even provide snacks and soft drinks for the players.”

In its second season, the College’s competitive eSports team is open to currently enrolled PSC students. The eSports Gaming Dome is located in the Delaino Student Center, Building 5, on the Pensacola campus.

The eSports team has three returning players and about six other students who have expressed interest in joining, Sommers added.

“We hope to recruit about 25 gamers for the competitive team, which will play against schools in the South East ESports Conference.”

Auburn University, East Carolina University, Georgia Southern University, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the University of South Carolina also are members of the South East conference.

The National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE), founded in 2019, is the governing body for two-year colleges participating at a competitive level. More than 125 two-year U.S. colleges have an eSports team.
