Do you want to make a positive difference in your community? If the answer is “Yes,” Pensacola State College is kicking off its 2019 United Way of Escambia County campaign on Monday, Feb. 4.
A donation or pledge to the organization can change lives right here in Escambia County.
“PSC has been a partner with the United Way for many years – helping not only with the campaign – but also local events like Cram the Van and Day of Caring,” said PSC Human Resources Director Tammy Henderson and one of the co-chairs of this year’s campaign.
“Conducting an in-house process for donations is a way to provide support to this agency which helps fund 42 programs at 31 area agencies. The payroll deduction option is easy, and can be designated as a one-time donation, or over a specified period of payrolls.”
Distribution of pledge forms and information materials will be sent to all employees starting next week. Additionally, there are other ways to donate to the agency.
“Besides payroll deduction, a one-time donation option and for the first time ever, a text-to-give are offered,” said Erandi Sanchez-Perez, Benefits Administrator and United Way co-chair.
Donors who contribute $156 or more also have the opportunity to win a new car. Kia Autosport of Pensacola has generously donated a new Kia Soul to this year’s fundraiser.
“If you pledge just $3 per week ($156 a year), your name is entered into a drawing to win this new car,” Sanchez-Perez added.
In this challenging economy, Henderson and Sanchez-Perez stressed any donation amount will be appreciated. Those who do not have the opportunity to participate during the campaign can make donations throughout the year by setting up an automatic payroll deduction or making a one-time gift.
