Pirates, Homecoming season is here!
“Homecoming at Pensacola State College is an important tradition that brings together current students, faculty, staff, and alumni to celebrate the spirit and history of the institution. It fosters a sense of community and pride, reinforcing the connection between past and present generations,” reflected Dr. Jon Stephenson, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs.
To kick off the festivities, students self-nominated to serve on the Pensacola State Homecoming court. Through online voting, the student body selected five men and five women to represent them in this time-honored tradition. Two of these outstanding individuals will be crowned Homecoming King and Queen during a special coronation ceremony at intermission between the women’s and men’s basketball games against Gulf Coast State College on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
2025 Pensacola State College Homecoming Court:
Women (in alphabetical order): Anetia Dukes, Shakevia Kirkland, Jodee Maloy, Tiyona Osario, and Lindsey Vincent.
Men (in alphabetical order): Oshay Creer, Cooper Dalrymple, Tyriq Flowers, Troy Mims, and Gabriel Nees.
The women’s game tips off at 5:15 p.m. in Hartsell Arena, followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. Fans, students, faculty and staff are invited to wear their Homecoming 2025 limited-edition T-shirts or their best Pirates gear as they cheer on the Pirates and witness the crowning of this year’s royal court in a celebration of school spirit and Pirate pride.
The PSC Student Engagement team, led by Coordinator Chandler White, is organizing a variety of fun activities leading up to the big game and coronation ceremony on Feb. 12.
“With Homecoming Week just around the corner, Student Engagement is thrilled to host a series of events across campus that will truly engage our students. This week will be an unforgettable celebration of school spirit, fostering connections and creating lasting memories for everyone,” stated White.
“As the Student Engagement Coordinator, I’m beyond excited to witness these moments unfold for our students. Here’s to a week filled with excitement, legacy, and the continued growth of our vibrant campus community! Go, Pirates!”
