Lovro Peretić, the 2022 Guitar Foundation of America’s International Concert Artist Competition Rose Augustine Grand Prize winner, will perform at Pensacola State College next month.
Presented by the College’s Guitar Association, Peretić’s performance is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus.
Admission is $11 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and non-PSC students, and $7 for PSC employees. The performance is free for current PSC students and Friends of the Performing Arts members.

In addition to the concert, Peretić will teach a free Master Class from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in Room 850 of the PSC Ashmore Fine Arts Center. For reservations, email jstallings@pensacolastate.edu.
Peretić will also be the guest adjudicator for the 2024 Pensacola State College Finger Style Acoustic Guitar Competition set for 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 17 in Ashmore Auditorium. There is no application fee to participate in the competition, but participants must be 18 years old or younger on the day of the competition.
Applications must be received by Friday, Feb. 9. The competition is closed to the public. The top three prizes will be announced during intermission at Peretić’s concert.

Peretić is an internationally recognized and award-winning classical guitarist from Zagreb, Croatia. He studied guitar at a young age with Professor Xhevdet Sahatxhija in Zagreb. He graduated with distinction in Professor Darko Petrinjak’s class at the Music Academy in Zagreb. He later studied with Judicaël Perroy at the Haute Ecole de Musique Genève in Switzerland.
He has won over 30 prizes in international competitions, including first place at the 2020 Eurostrings Guitar Competition, the Changsha International Guitar Competition in China, and other significant events in Belgium, France, Germany, Greece and Kosovo.
Today, Peretić is regarded as one of the leading guitarists of the younger generation, with an impressive catalog of awards and performances. He performs concerts at the world’s most prestigious classical music festivals and organizations.
Peretić recently recorded his debut album for Naxos Records ─ the world’s leading classical music label, which was released in June 2023. As well as his solo performance career, he regularly performs in various chamber music groups, including the guitar trio Evocación, which released their first album in 2020, entitled Evocación, through the Italian publishing label Dotguitar.
