Pensacola State College donors and supporters were treated to an assortment of hors d’oeuvres from around the world during the Garde Manger Donor Appreciation Reception held July 19 in the Delaino Student Center on the Pensacola campus.
Culinary students created themed dishes ranging from Jamaican jerk chicken wings to Naples, Italy’s Caprese Crostini, an All-American picnic loaded potato salad, Disney’s “Princess and the Frog” New Orleans-influenced gumbo and Cajun coleslaw, and even Street Racing foods such as shrimp ceviche.
“There’s a lot of delicious food here. Our students were creative and did a phenomenal job, and I’m excited to share this with guests,” said Culinary and Hospitality Management Instructor Joni Hoang.
The Garde Manger is an annual celebration when the College thanks supporters who help fund scholarships, support faculty professional development, and contribute financial support and services for infrastructure.
Culinary students were Savannah, Barwick, Marla Caras, Makayla Chambless, Amaya Hankins, Heather Harvill, Zackary Jensen, Angela Langevin, Shelly Lemoine, Elizabeth Loper, Michael Marcelletta, Vickie Mims, Naomi Moorer, Jacob Morris, Sarah Rudd, Sandra Savage, Anna Seawright, Garrett Thomas and Ella Thompson.
