Michelle Buchanan will share her expertise on successful fundraising practices at a workshop offered through Pensacola State College’s new Nonprofit Center for Excellence and Philanthropy program.
The workshop is set for 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, at the Delaino Student Center, Building 5, on the Pensacola campus. Registration is $75.
A principal partner with Dini Spheris consulting company, Buchanan will train nonprofit board members and local professionals on the tools they can utilize to raise the resources their nonprofits need to meet their missions — tools used by her clients to raise hundreds of millions.
The workshop will focus on comprehensive campaigns. Buchanan will outline different types of capital campaigns, define campaign readiness and share tools for planning and managing campaigns. She also will cover donor development, sources of gifts, prospect management and stewardship.
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credit is available for those who attend.
Buchanan has served as team leader for numerous projects, including building a centralized philanthropy program for St. Louis’ Mercy Health System, which spanned four states and 32 hospitals. She also worked with Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas, to create the facility’s first major gift foundation.
