Applications for Fellows Foundation scholarships are being accepted through May 1.
Available to students majoring in health care fields or the ministry, the scholarships will be awarded in July for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $10,000, and applicants can reapply each subsequent academic year.
Medical School/Physician Assistant
Students who have completed an undergraduate degree and are accepted to or enrolled in an accredited medical school or physician assistant program can apply for a $10,000 scholarship. Scholarships for medical school are available but not limited to general practitioner, obstetrics, osteopathic, pediatrics and sports medicine programs.
Health Care
Students in 12 health care fields can apply for a $1,000 or $2,000 scholarship. The health care fields and certificate or degree programs are:
- Registered Nursing, Associate of Science (AS)
- Registered Nursing, Bachelor of Science (BSN)
- Registered Nursing, AS to BSN
- Practical Nursing, Vocational Certificate
- Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse, Associate of Science
- Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, master’s degree
- Physical Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy
- Nurse Anesthesiologist, master’s degree
- Nurse Practitioner, Master of Science in Nursing
- Nurse Practice, Doctor of Nursing Practice
- Medical Technology or Health Sciences
- Speech Pathologist or Language Pathologist, master’s degree.
Theology Ministry
To be announced at a later date, a one-year scholarship will be available to students who want to become ordained Episcopal ministers or clergy in a faith that does not directly conflict with Episcopalian doctrines and beliefs.
Scholarships applicants must be U.S. citizens; residents of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, or Walton County; of good moral character; have a minimum 2.5 grade point average; and be accepted at or pursuing training at an accredited college or university.

The Fellows Foundation was established in 1961 by Mrs. Earle W. Fellows to honor her late husband, Dr. J. Hugh Fellows, a Pensacola physician for over 45 years. Initially, the Fellows Foundations offered loans to students enrolled in health care fields and the ministry but recently converted to scholarships.
Since its establishment, the Fellows Foundation has provided loans to nearly 500 physicians, other health care employees and clergy members.
