Now that students have weathered the historic snowstorm of Pen-snow-pocalypse 2025, they can focus on making their own history as they prepare for their professional careers with the help of Pensacola State College.
February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, and PSC is celebrating with various events, workshops, and resources designed to prepare our student Pirates for success in their chosen professions. CTE students are those working toward an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree, a vocational certificate or a college credit certificate. This spring, 27% of Pensacola State students are participating in CTE programs.
With a focus on hands-on learning, industry partnerships and real-world experiences, PSC’s CTE programs empower students to gain the necessary skills to excel in today’s competitive job market.
Pensacola State’s CTE Student Resources Director Deborah Hooks affirmed, “CTE aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, equipping learners with skills and insight needed to thrive in the workforce. CTE teaches practical skills students will use in the real world. It combines book knowledge with hands-on experience so students can walk into a job with real skills and abilities.”
To launch this month of professional empowerment and support, Pensacola State College invites students and prospective students to Financial Aid Day this Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 1 on the Pensacola campus at 1000 College Boulevard.
