INTRODUCTION
The Career Certificate in Aviation Powerplant Mechanics prepares students with the skills necessary to inspect, service, repair, and overhaul various powerplant systems and components, including reciprocating and turbine engines, electrical and electronics, precision measurement, propeller service, and fuel system diagnosis. The aim of this program is to develop students who possess the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the FAA written, oral, and practical exams.
This program provides instruction consisting of a sequence of courses that involves theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory training to develop the skills necessary to fulfill the FAA eligibility requirement for testing. The full program is designed to be completed in 1350 clock hours.
