About Us

The Pirates CARE Student Resource Center was created to serve as a one-stop shop for student needs. We recognize that students may experience challenges that can interfere with their academic and personal success. These challenges can include things such as basic needs (food, housing, transportation, healthcare, etc.), increased anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, or other stressful experiences.

The Pirates CARE Student Resource Center provides free services to students, including emergency aid, campus food pantries, career clothing closets, connections to local resources for basic needs support, and confidential mental health counseling services provided in-person or via telehealth. The Pirates CARE Student Resource Center also includes a lounge area for students, a family-friendly study area, and computers for students to use to connect with on and off-campus resources.

The Pirates CARE Student Resource Center is located on the Pensacola Campus in Building 5, Room 510. Satellite locations are also available at the Warrington, Milton, and Century campuses. You can contact the Pirates CARE Student Resource Center at 850-484-1759 or by email at PiratesCARE@pensacolastate.edu.

Pirates Food Pantry

decorative image of Update-food-pantry-2022-copy , Pirates Care 2023-07-12 09:32:36The Pirates CARE Team knows some PSC students experience food insecurity and often struggle to support themselves while working, attending classes, and managing a family. The Pirate Pantry provides food and personal hygiene items to currently enrolled PSC students in need of assistance. Through a partnership with Manna and donations from the PSC community, students can visit the pantry two times per month to obtain food for their households. Every PSC campus has a food pantry to allow students to focus on their academic goals and completing their degrees without worrying about where their next meal will come from.

Each semester students are asked to complete a Pirate Food Pantry Application. If this will be your first time using the pantry this semester, please complete the application at the following link: https://www.pensacolastate.edu/apply-food-pantry/

Please see the flyer below for information regarding locations and operating hours of our Pirate Food Pantries.

For more information about the Pirate Food Pantry, including how to make donations to the pantry, contact the Pirates CARE Team at PiratesCare@pensacolastate.edu

Campus Career Closet

Campus Career Closets provide free new or gently used professional clothing items to PSC students for job interviews, work, internships, co-ops, or everyday wear. Campus Career Closets are currently located on the Pensacola, Milton, Warrington, and Century Campuses in the same locations as the campus food pantries.

For more information about the clothing closets, contact the Pirates CARE Team at PiratesCARE@pensacolastate.edu.

Additional Resources

The following links provide some good information about preventing suicide, warning signs and how to access help, but no web search can be a substitute for getting help from a caring trained professional. This is true whether you are considering suicide or are concerned about someone else.

If you or someone you know is struggling with stress, depression, suicidal thoughts, PTSD or similar, remember that it IS okay to get help.

For emergencies call PSC Campus Police at (850) 484-2500 and then call 9-1-1.
