Cyber Forensics

Welcome to the Cyber Forensics (CYBFO-AS) Program

From the Homeland Security Website (http://www.dhs.gov/cybersecurity-overview): “Our daily life, economic vitality, and national security depend upon a stable, safe and resilient cyberspace. We rely on this vast array of networks to communicate and travel, power our homes, run our economy, and provide government services. Yet cyber intrusions and attacks have increased dramatically over the last decade, exposing sensitive personal and business information, disrupting critical operations, and imposing high costs on the economy.” The Cyber Forensics Associate of Science program will assist the student in development of skills required to identify, obtain and move forward needed electronic evidence through the evidence chain of command.

Please note that students will have to complete a prior record check at their own expense prior to registering for the Cyber Forensic Capstone class at the end of the Cyber Forensic program. The Capstone class will pair each student with a law enforcement agency where they will work during their last semester in the collection of cyber related data. No law enforcement agency will allow a student to work with them in any capacity if they are a convicted felon or if there is a serious prior criminal record of any kind. Accepting a student for the capstone is strictly up to the individual law enforcement agency. Therefore, please make note of this requirement in regards to your chosen academic program.

You must furnish the program coordinator, Mr. Marc Ward in Building 10, Room 1061A, with a completed prior record check before the end of the second week of CCJ2409C Cyber Forensic Capstone class. This prior record check must have been conducted within 60 days of the start of CCJ2409C Cyber Forensic Capstone. If additional information is needed contact Mr. Marc Ward at 850-484-2575 or dmward@pensacolastate.edu.
