1. Explain the basic concepts of emergency management.
2. Contrast the types of natural and manmade disasters most likely
to affect Florida.
3. Identify and apply the four phases of emergency management:
preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.
4. Describe and apply the basic components of incident command.
5. Examine and apply NIMS components.
6. Explain comprehensive emergency planning, coordination procedures
and standard operating guides.
7. Differentiate among incident command, area command and the
emergency operations center, defining how they are linked during
8. Demonstrate the ability to inventory, locate, allocate and track
local, state and federal resources.
9. Explain the transition from response to recovery in incident

Evaluation of student progress towards achieving the stated learning
outcomes and performance objectives is the responsibility of the
instructor, within the policies of the college and the department.

by the instructor for each section being taught.
