Catalog Description: |
This course presents the basic concepts, principles, and techniques
of business leadership. Emphasis will be on the student developing
a
solid leadership foundation while centering the real themes,
demands, and opportunities of an evolving and dynamic business
workplace. This course will incorporate basic leadership skill
development as it relates to the core aspects of the management
practice.

Upon completion of this course, the successful student will:
1. Exhibit an understanding of effective management of an
organization.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary theories of leadership and
management.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of motivation, group dynamics, conflict
resolution, goal setting and rewards, job design, work stress.
power/politics, and organizational change and development.
4. Demonstrate the use of team building, collaboration, cooperation,
and coordination techniques within an organizational setting.
5. Employ knowledge and application of sound management practices
within the organizational functions of personnel, resource
allocation, information technology, and decision making.
6. Integrate concepts from other Bachelor of Applied Sciences
