||This course teaches the student the pronunciation, spelling,
actions, and side effects of the most commonly prescribed drugs and
the interpretation of pharmacological terms, abbreviations, and
symbols used in prescription writing.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have

able to spell them correctly and identify them by category.

1. Identify forms of drugs (liquid, tablet, etc.) and appropriate
routes of administration (oral, IV, etc.
2. Discuss drug design, testing, manufacturing, and marketing.
3. Understand the effects drugs have on the human body.
4. Understand systems of measurements used in pharmacology.
5. Recognize generic and brand name drugs commonly described in
medical specialities such as urology, cardiology, ob/gyn, etc.
