| Catalog Description: | This course is a continuation of BSC 1093. Topics covered include the endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems, including genetics, general developmental concepts and pregnancy. Normal and pathological conditions of fluid, acid-base, and electrolyte balance are also surveyed. |

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to: Explain the normal structure, function, and major pathological conditions of the endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. Understand physiological homeostasis as it relates to health and disease. Demonstrate an understanding of concepts of fluid, acid-base, and electrolyte balance in the body. Apply concepts concerning homeostasis of body systems to the development and maintenance of personal physical health. |
