Catalog Description:
This is a laboratory course in which dissected materials, 
microscopy, 
models and other supplemental materials will be used to reinforce 
concepts presented in BSC 1080.

Special Requirements: The lab fee is only required for on campus labs. Protective eyewear is required for on campus labs. The current distance learning fee will apply to online sections of this course.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
  1. Identify basic body cells and tissues from microscope slides and other media.
  2. Identify major bones and muscles of the human body from models, dissected material and other media.
  3. Identify the major structures of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system from models, dissected material and other media.
  4. Explain common tests of the function of the general and special senses.
  5. Identify major structures of the eye and ear from models, dissected material and other media.
  6. Identify major components of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems from models, dissected material, and other media.
  7. Perform common tests of cardiovascular and respiratory function.

Methods of Evaluation:
Evaluation of student progress towards achieving the stated learning 
outcomes and performance objectives is the responsibility of the

Flexibility: It is the intention of the instructor to accomplish the objectives specified in the course syllabus. However, circumstances may arise which prohibit the fulfilling of this endeavor. Therefore, this syllabus is subject to change. When possible, students will be notified of any change in advance of its occurrence.

Student Email Accounts: Pensacola State College provides an institutional email account to all credit students. In cases where companion software is used for a particular class, emails may be exchanged between instructor and student using the companion software.
