| Program Learning Outcomes: |
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Discuss the organization of the human body at the chemical,
cellular, tissue and organ level.
- Discuss homeostatic mechanisms as they relate to health and
disease.
- Identify the major structures and their functions of the
integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine,
cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary and
reproductive systems.
- Describe the interrelationships between skin, bone, muscle
and joints in the support and movement of the body.
- Describe the functions of the nervous and endocrine systems
in maintaining homeostasis.
- Discuss the role of the nervous and endocrine systems in
communicating internally.
- Describe the roles of the cardiovascular, lymphatic,
respiratory, digestive and urinary systems in maintenance of
normal body function.
- Describe pH, fluid and electrolyte homeostasis.
- Describe basic metabolic mechanisms.
Describe reproduction, growth and development.
